Upcoming events in Val d'Arly
The Val d'Arly also organises its own events for cycling enthusiasts. From 10 to 17 June 2023, at the foot of the Aravis Pass, the Aravis Bike Tour is a week-long course entirely dedicated to cycling, with accommodation and catering. The Aravis Bike Tour is both an extraordinary personal adventure and an intensive 5-day training course, accompanied by certified cycling instructors for daily bike rides.
The rides vary from 60 km to 130 km. Two options are available depending on the level of experience. The first is an easier course (with a total of 370 km and 9,320 m of ascent in 5 days) which allows you to practise group riding, descent techniques and managing the consumption of drinks and snacks throughout a race. The second is an expert course (469 km in 5 days with 12,340 m of ascent) during which various training techniques are integrated.
Price: from €195 / person (based on 4 people), including accommodation, 5 days of instruction with roadside assistance and snacks, a massage and a welcome pack. For more information, click here.
The Val d'Arly is full of beautiful walks to discover, including the legendary Route des Grandes Alpes®. The most adventurous cyclists can try this itinerary which passes through the Aravis and Saisies passes. Note that this is a rather difficult 25 kilometre route that takes about 2 hours. It passes through the villages of La Giettaz, Flumet and Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe. A second option, just as emblematic as the first, is to start from Flumet and climb the Col des Aravis (1,486 m).
But don't worry, there are also other trails that are accessible to families and children with easy terrain for mountain biking or electric bike riding. This is why the Val d'Arly is an ideal destination for young and old! So, are you ready to discover the Val d'Arly territory by bike?
