VILLA HAMMERSCHMIEDE

Pfinztal-Söllingen

Description

The historical background of Villa Hammerschmiede is linked to the history of the Söllingen foundries. In the 18th century, Margrave Karl-Friedrich was keen to "promote the welfare and industrialization of his lands" by establishing a foundry on the border of the districts of Söllingen and Kleinsteinbach.

The blacksmith Johann Goblée was responsible for the planning of the facility. In 1893, the villa was built as the director's residence. In 1930, the company Gottfried Herte sold the property to the Krupp tungsten factory. The Krupp era saw the company expand and collapse, ending in 1973 with the sale and dismantling of its facilities.

In 1989, Norbert Schwalbe purchased the property to fulfill a dream, turning it into a particularly charming hotel. Since 1992, the property is managed as a hotel with 24 rooms and 5 suites, a renowned restaurant, a swimming pool with jacuzzi and a sauna area.

The hotel is located between Karlsruhe (20 minutes) and Stuttgart (45 minutes). Strasbourg (Alsace) is only one hour away, as is Baden-Baden.

Massages, singing bowl treatments and facials are available on request.

We also offer dinner packages, please contact us for more information.
